October.~ random reality check ~ Tomorrow is October.
I've decided to give some equal time to my less hostile feelings (see previous entry if you feel you must). As far as belonging goes there's nothing like boarding a CTA train to make you feel like you are "part of" this place - this City. Honestly I've felt at home in Chicago from the very first - which is going on seven plus years now. When my friends go on and on about the evils of concrete & asphalt and how living out amongst nature is how it was all intended (okay -- maybe they don't get that maudlin about it) I simply remind them that the New Jerusalem is a CITY. I mean that pretty much says all. Right? Although I am sure there it will be *perfectly balanced* in every way, so my friends will enjoy it too. :)

Living here - smack dab in the middle of Chicago I have a sense of belonging. This is where I am supposed to be for now. I feel comfortable and happy that this is where I live. I like there being so many people around all the time...that you can kind of just not really think about it.
